The 017 service -Your Cybersecurity Help receives more than 138,000 inquiries in 2025, 40% more than the previous year

If you have a fever, call your doctor. If your computer has a virus, 017. If something digital worries you, the 017 takes care of it.

The National Cybersecurity Institute, INCIBE, takes stock of the activity of its national and free service whose objective is to help Internet users solve digital security problems that may arise in their daily lives.

  • Consultations have increased by 40% compared to 2024, an increase that has been more prominent in recent months, after the institutional advertising campaign under the slogan “If something digital worries you, 017 takes care”
  • There is also an increase in calls from minors or their environment. In 2025, they constitute 4% of the consultations, 5,521 calls, compared to 2,999 in 2024
  • INCIBE has presented these data today in the course of an event held at its headquarters in León, in which it has named the musical group Café Quijano as Cyber-Cooperative of Honor
  • The Government has opted to strengthen this national and free service, available to all citizens because without security, digital transformation is not possible

Madrid, December 26, 2025.- Throughout the year 2025 and until last December 20, the service 017 ‘Your help in Cybersecurity’, managed by the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, has received 138,003 inquiries, 40% more than in 2024, when it received 98,546 inquiries.The increase in consultations has occurred after the launch of an advertising campaign that has had as its motto, “if something worries you, 017 is occupied”, and that has served to improve the visibility of the service.

The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, Óscar López, has valued the data very positively. “The Government wanted to strengthen this national and free service, available to all citizens to solve their digital security problems, because without cybersecurity, digital transformation is not possible. As a society we must develop a culture of cybersecurity and, at the same time, know the tools we have to protect ourselves. The 017 contributes to these two objectives,” he said.

The data have been presented today at the headquarters of the INCIBE de León, during an event in which the musical trio Café Quijano has also been named as a cyber-cooperative of honor.

Balance of consultations

Almost half of the consultations (49%) carried out throughout the year are preventive and informative. The remaining 51% are reactive consultations, when individuals or companies seek information on how to proceed in the face of a problem.

The majority (89%) come from private citizens, who have asked mostly about issues related to fraudulent purchases; vishinga type of telephone scam that impersonates the identity of a trusted business or person in order to obtain personal and sensitive information from the victim; and smishing, a scam that consists of sending an SMS by a cybercriminal in which he simulates being a legitimate entity -social network, bank, public institution, etc. -With the aim of stealing private information from you or making you financially responsible.

Calls made by minors or their environment have also been increased. In 2025, they constitute 4% of the consultations, 5521 compared to 2,999 in 2024. These queries have focused primarily on privacy and reputation. on-line, on sextortion practices and issues related to identity supplantation.

As for the companies, whose inquiries represent 7% of the total, they have asked mainly about identity theft, as well as phishing (sending an email by a cybercriminal to a user pretending to be a legitimate entity such as a social network, bank, public institution, etc. in order to steal private information from you, charge you financially or infect your device) and CEO fraud, a scam where attackers impersonate a senior manager to trick employees into making urgent money transfers.

Café Quijano, cyber-collaborators of honor

On the other hand, the Leonese musical trio Café Quijano has received today, from the Director-General of INCIBE, Félix Barrio, the Cyber-Cooperative distinction of Honor. This is a distinction granted to public figures who contribute to transmitting values of tolerance, respect and solidarity in the online environment and who, aware of the importance of awareness in the field of digital security and the responsible use of ICT, and involved in actions of this nature, altruistically support the Cyber-Cooperative Program and collaborate in its dissemination.

Her Majesty Queen Letizia, the adventurer Jesús Calleja or Vicente del Bosque, among others, form part of INCIBE’s list of Honorary Cyber Cooperatives, which today joins Café Quijano, one of the most recognizable groups of contemporary Spanish music. During their visit to INCIBE, they also had the opportunity to visit their main projects, including Your Help in Cybersecurity – 017.
