The Royal Decree 829/2023, of 20 Novemberthe restructuring of ministerial departments, as amended by Royal Decree 1230/2023, of 29 December, has created the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service. The Ministry has three higher bodies: the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures and the Secretary of State for Public Service.
Also, the Royal Decree 1009/2023, of 5 Decemberwhich establishes the basic organizational structure of ministerial departments and sets up the senior and executive bodies of each department.
Through the Royal Decree 890/2024, of 5 Septemberin accordance with articles 62 (e) and 100 of the Constitution, and on the proposal of the President of the Government, is appointed Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service to Don Óscar López Águeda.
As provided by the Royal Decree 210/2024, of 27 Februaryby which the ministerial departments are restructured, this ministry is structured in the following higher bodies:
- The Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, on which the Directorate-General for Digitisation and Artificial Intelligence, the Directorate-General for Data and the Directorate-General for Strategic Planning in Advanced Digital Technologies and the New Language Economy depend.
- The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructureswhich is the responsibility of the General Secretariat for Telecommunications and Management of Audiovisual Communication Services.
- The Secretariat of State for the Civil Service, on which the General Secretariat of Digital Administration, the General Directorate of Public Service, with the rank of Undersecretary, and the General Directorate of Public Governance depend. The Office of Conflicts of Interest, with the rank of General Director, also depends on this Secretary of State.
