The ICNIRP has revised the 1998 document “ICNIRP Guidelines on Limiting Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields [PDF]“which sets out the Guidelines for Exposure Limits to Electromagnetic Fields which ensure that non-ionising emissions from telecommunications services are not harmful to health below the established limits.
This new document concludes that the 1998 guidelines remain valid for currently commercially available radio-frequency based telecommunications services. The main changes introduced relate to frequencies above 6 GHz where some services will operate in the future.
The limits established by the ICNIRP are the limits established in the Spanish regulations for the entire national territory, specifically in Royal Decree 1066/2001, of September 28, which approves the Regulation that establishes conditions of protection of the public radio domain, restrictions on radio emissions and health protection measures against radio emissions.
