Technological competitiveness is no longer measured only in product, it is measured in the ability to create sectoral impact solutions, share knowledge, attract talent and position oneself in the spaces where the future of artificial intelligence is defined.
But we must not leave SMEs behind, who need access to real AI solutions, tailored to their sector and without barriers to entry.
The Responsible and Open AI Challenge in Industry was born for that.
An initiative to promote the development of technological solutions based on artificial intelligence and open source software, aimed at solving real challenges with application in productive environments.
We look for viable, demonstrable and reusable solutions.
During the online phase from the 22-27 May, the teams will work on the technical development of a solution based on artificial intelligence, which should be published in an open repository and comply with the principles of free software.
The results presented in the Hackathon They will be published openly for the entire Open Source AI Community, without prejudice to the fact that participating entities can continue to evolve their solutions and market them.
The initiative will culminate the day 2 June with a face-to-face day in the University of Zaragoza, where the projects will be presented to a jury that will assess their impact, innovation, technical quality and communication capacity.
The winning team will be recognized with participation in the hackathon UN Tech Over de la UN Open Source Week 2026, according to the terms and conditions.

Open source platform for managing AI projects and compliance (EU AI Act) in a single environment. It automates the monitoring of regulatory requirements, centralizes documentation and facilitates audits and transparency.
AI-based open source platform that preserves and transfers expert knowledge within the enterprise. It turns the workers’ experience, captured through voice and natural language, into structured digital knowledge that is accessible to new generations.
Asistente conversacional en español para PYMEs industriales que evalúa el cumplimiento del EU AI Act en 3 pasos: It classifies the system and its level of risk, analyzes the technical documentation to detect gaps and generates a report with recommendations and applicable articles. It explains everything in clear language adapted to the industrial environment.
Drone AI system with edge computing that processes thermal video in real time to detect and delimit heat perimeters. It integrates meteorological data and satellite connectivity to send information to the command center, generating an operational map in real time that improves decision making in rescues.
Open source solution for route optimization for SMEs that allows to upload orders (CSV or manual), geolocate them and automatically generate efficient routes for one or several vehicles according to distance, capacity, schedules and priorities. It includes visualization, explanation of routes and an AI assistant to understand and improve logistics planning.
Multimodal documentary intelligence platform for business que transforma documentos en conocimiento estructurado, combinando texto e imágenes en un índice semántico. It includes a response system with visual verification that allows each result to be audited directly on the original source.
Open source AI assistant for carpentry that turns a photo into a complete manufacturing tab. Use computer vision and guided dialogue to generate budget, list of materials, cutting and workshop order, optimizing the cut according to templates and catalog of each carpentry, all deployable on-premise.
Open Source Energy Consulting Platform with AI It analyzes consumption, location and electrical bills to recommend renewable solutions, estimate savings, return on investment and subsidies. In addition, it identifies opportunities from nearby local energy communities and presents everything in a simple dashboard for non-technical users.
Self-hosted web application to generate Digital Product Passports (DPP) conforming to the European standard. It uses a multi-agent system that classifies the product according to ESPR regulations, extracts and structures data from technical sheets, requests missing information and generates a DPP in CIRPASS-2 format (JSON-LD with GS1 Digital Link and QR). It includes automatic compliance verification that blocks the issuance if the data is not complete.
Open AI proposal and responsible for industrial predictive maintenance It analyzes ultrasonic signals and vibrations in machinery to detect early wear in bearings and critical parts. It extracts anomalous patterns, estimates severity, and generates alerts with scheduled maintenance recommendations to avoid unplanned shutdowns.
