La inteligencia artificial está transformando nuestra forma de trabajar, crear e innovar. We believe that its development should be Open, transparent and accessible For the whole of society, that’s why we drive an open source AI community that brings together governments, researchers, businesses, and citizens to share knowledge, drive projects, and ensure AI is available to all.
Our goal is democratise access to artificial intelligence, promoting an ecosystem of responsible innovation that strengthens the competitiveness of Spanish companies, especially SMEs and startups, to develop specialized and sectoral AI applications with a high potential of impact on the industry and to position Spain as a leader.
Open source allows building on non-proprietary technological resources by fostering innovation from the ground up (Grassroots). That’s why, with open source models like the ALIA Model Family, we want to build a community that can reduce barriers to market entry for AI systems. Becoming the nerve center of the open AI ecosystem and gateway to access technological resources that allow developers to innovate and solve real challenges.
For this purpose this project was born, the creation of a Open Source AI Community: a living, active space, designed to bring together developers, researchers, educators, startups, SMEs, large companies and even amateurs in a collaborative and professional environment that encourages innovation and supports a sovereign and competitive AI, based on European values of equity, diversity and security, making Spain and Europe a world leader. To achieve this, the Community relies on three priority goals:
Facilitate practical AI solutions, adoptable by SMEs and microSMEs.
Promote service companies specialized in adaptation, integration and maintenance of AI.
Develop a talent base in AI in Spain, promoting new vocations and professional profiles.
