List of Licensees of television audiovisual media services using terrestrial Hertzian waves

The judgment of the Supreme Court of 27 November 2012 partially upheld the contentious-administrative appeal filed by Infrastructures and Management 2002, S.L., declaring the nullity of the Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 16 July 2010, in which a digital multiple of state coverage was assigned to each of the licensees of the state-wide digital terrestrial television service.

As a result of this pronouncement, the content of the licences of the current national DTT licensees must revert to the situation immediately prior to the adoption of the agreement, so that, currently, national DTT licensees have fewer channels.

By Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 17 April 2015, the mandatory competition was convened to grant six licences to provide television audiovisual media services through DTT that were vacant. The Council of Ministers’ Agreement of 16 October, which resolves the public tender for the award by means of a competition scheme of six operating licences, on an open-air basis, increased the number of licensees and the number of channels available in DTT. In particular, six new channels were added (Atreseries, Be MAd, Real MAdrid, TEN, DKISS, 13TV), and three new licensees (Radio Blanca, Ten Media and Real Madrid).
