In the Area of Public Administrations we work to facilitate the optimal deployment of public electronic communications networks by collaborating, coordinating and supporting the different actors that influence and participate in such deployment, such as Public Administrations (local, regional and state) and telecommunications operators, through two main lines of action.
One line of action consists of advising, through different mechanisms, the competent Public Administrations to make decisions on land use planning and town planning, environment, landscape protection, protection of people’s health and historical-artistic heritage, without contradicting the provisions of the sectoral telecommunications legislation.
In this way, it is intended to be able to meet the objectives sought by all administrations, applying the principles of coordination and cooperation, while avoiding situations that produce a detriment in the deployment of public electronic communications networks or in the provision of telecommunications services.
Another line of action is offered through the PIU portal (Single Information Point) that provides information of interest to telecommunications operators, such as access to existing infrastructures for deployments, possible sharing thereof, and knowledge of conditions of permits and licenses to be requested from Public Administrations to be able to deploy.
In the different subjects accessible from this portal are shown the main elements that are part of the lines of action of the Area of Public Administrations.
