The telecommunications regulations cover both those directly related to them, as well as the media used to support audiovisual communication and the legislation on services of the information society.
Because of the origins from which it emanates, there is both national and European regulation. The first is based on Article 149.1.21a of the Spanish Constitution and the second on the so-called package of Community Directives (2002/19/EC, 2002/20/EC and 2002/21/EC) recast and replaced by Directive (EU) 2018/1972 approving the European Code of Electronic Communications.
The following are the main current telecommunications standards:
- European Code of Electronic Communications
- Law 11/2022, of June 28, General of Telecommunications (LGTel)
BOE-A-2022-10757 Law 11/2022, of June 28, General of Telecommunications.
- Law 13/2022, of July 7, General of Audiovisual Communication (LGCA)
BOE-A-2022-11311 Law 13/2022, of July 7, General of Audiovisual Communication.
- Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society and Electronic Commerce Services (LSSI)
