In the context of the Inter-Administrative Network of Quality in Public Services, the then Ministry of Finance and Public Function proposed the possibility of elaborating a Situation Map of the simplification actions in the state and regional administration, in order to know the current situation and to be able to find synergies. This initiative was welcomed.
A questionnaire was agreed between the administrations and with the information collected a descriptive document of the situation of the simplification of procedures in each Administration was prepared, in which the measures adopted in each field were collected, and which served as a starting point to share experiences.
This first report was presented in the Plenary of the Network on November 17, 2021.
From the General Directorate of Public Governance, it was considered relevant because it brings together in its pages an image of the work that, from the different administrative bodies, is done to avoid unnecessary bureaucratic obstacles, stimulate economic activity, simplify processes, improve the quality of our regulations and become aware of the impact of administrative procedures on the life of business actors and citizens in general.
Based on this initial work, in 2023 the task of updating it was addressed to highlight the changes, evolutions and advances that have taken place in the different Autonomous Communities and in the AGE.
An English version was prepared, as well as in Spanish, considering that it can be useful to show, where appropriate, the institutions of the European Union and other Member States the progress made and explain how a State territorially complex and with diverse spaces with legislative and regulatory powers works to facilitate contact with citizens, promote economic activity and face the new challenges of a more digital and complex society.
