Support for the deployment of 5G Networks – Backhaul Fibre optics
El 4 de noviembre de 2022 se publicó en el BOE la Order ETD/1054/2022, of 21 October, establishing the regulatory bases for the granting of aid for the provision of fibre optic backhaul connections to sites of public mobile telephone networks and a first call for applications is made under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU. Program «Unico 5G Redes - Backhaul Fibre Optics».
A total of 255 applications were submitted by 11 operators for the implementation of the projects related to the provision of fiber backhaul connection to all existing sites, which do not currently have a fiber optic backhaul, selected as eligible, and which must have the capacity to handle the traffic of a minimum of 4 operators, as well as guarantee to be able to provide the required wholesale services and those committed in the project.
Once processed and evaluated, 103 of them have been resolved favourably, belonging to the projects presented by 8 operators that total eligible investments of 718,841,919 euros, with grants of 447,340,893 euros.
