New administrative authorization of amateur radio
Once the training test has been passed, it will be necessary to have the administrative authorization of radio amateur to carry out broadcasts. The radio amateur’s administrative authorization entitles the owner to make broadcasts through fixed stations that have the mandatory license, as well as through mobile or portable stations.
According to Article 18.8 of the current Radio Amateurs Regulation, in addition to the fixed station license also requires the administrative authorization of amateur radio any collective station (whether unattended automatic station or not).
Foreigners who document that they are resident in Spain may apply for the authorization of a radio amateur, without having to pass the training test, in the following cases:
If they hold a HAREC certificate issued by any country that has applied the CEPT Recommendation T/R 61-02 .
If there is an agreement or reciprocity agreement on the matter with the country that granted its original amateur radio license.
In order to obtain the amateur radio authorization, you must:
- Fill in the Model 790 for the payment of the fee.
- Fill in the corresponding Application form through the Ministry’s electronic headquarters for amateur radio procedures.
Applicants who meet any of the following conditions are exempt from paying the fee:
- Beneficiaries of a public pension.
- To be 65 years of age in the year in which they submit the application or to have fulfilled them previously.
- Have a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%.
The application will be submitted electronically through the headquarters of the Ministry using a recognized electronic certificate, issued by any of the certifying companies that are recognized on the web of the Ministry. The Provincial Telecommunications Inspection Headquarters will resolve any doubts in this regard.
