The B+C module is a procedure in which the design of the equipment is examined by an external entity called “notified body”, which certifies that the conformity assessment carried out by the manufacturer is correct and that, therefore, the equipment meets the essential requirements.
Once the notified body issues its opinion, the manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that the manufacture of the equipment does not alter compliance with the essential requirements.
This procedure can be used in any case and, in particular, for the radio spectrum requirement, where the manufacturer has not applied harmonised technical standards or has partially applied them.
