Information about Frequency Modulated (FM) Sound Broadcasting Stations
The utilization note UN-17 of the National Frequency Allocation Table (CNAF) establishes that the frequency band 87.5 to 108 MHz will be used exclusively by entities authorized to provide sound broadcasting services on frequency-modulated metric waves, and always in accordance with the National Technical Plan:
National Technical Plan for Sound Broadcasting in Metric Waves with Frequency Modulation, approved by Royal Decree 964/20061 September 2006 (BOE No 223 of 18 September 2006), and subsequently amended by the first final provision of the Royal Decree 462/2015, of 5 June (BOE No 143, of 16 June 2015).
Enabled entities
The entities authorized to provide sound broadcasting services on medium waves (service license) are:
- The Corporation of Spanish Radio and Television, S.A., through the Sociedad Mercantil Estado Radio Nacional de España (RNE).
- The Public Entities of the Autonomous Communities authorized for the direct management of audio broadcasting in modulated frequency (autonomous FM stations).
- Local Corporations that have the enabling title (municipal FM stations).
- Natural or legal persons by license granted by the competent bodies of the Autonomous Communities for their exploitation (local FM stations).
