- Processing of authorisations for broadcasters covering digital terrestrial television (DTT), with study and analysis of the projects and the certifications of the installation.
- Processing of exams to obtain the Amateur Radio Diploma.
- Inspection of common telecommunications infrastructures in buildings (ICT).
- Support for the central services for the management and administration of the public radio domain as well as the granting of the qualifying titles for its use, highlighting the following activities:
- Processing of authorisations for private use of the radio spectrum (fixed service and fixed and mobile narrowband service) with the frequency proposals to be used and analysis of the technical proposals or projects for approval.
- Study and analysis of projects of electronic communications stations in harmonized bands (mobile telephone base stations).
- Verification of the effective and efficient use of the public radio domain by the holders of usage rights.
- Technical Verification of Radio Emissions (CTER) for the identification, location and elimination of harmful interference, infringements, irregularities and disturbances in telecommunications systems.
- Measurement of radio emission levels to control compliance with the exposure limits established by regulations.
- Support for the control and inspection of telecommunication equipment and systems, unauthorized emissions, placing on the market of telecommunication equipment and devices, facilities and services supplied by telecommunication operators to their subscribers in the face of complaints from them due to operational problems.
- Work of advice, management and resolution of queries and requests for information that citizens raise in matters that are the competence of the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Management of Audiovisual Communication Services. More specifically:
- Secret of communications.
- Common telecommunications infrastructure in buildings (ICT), (except in Catalonia).
- Rights of telecommunications users.
- Inspection and the sanctioning regime in telecommunications.
- Information on radio emissions and exposure levels.
- Detection of harmful interference reported by citizens.
- Use of the public radio domain.
- Exploitation of networks and the provision of electronic communications services.
- Deployment of telecommunications networks in the public and private domain.
- Registration of telecommunication installation companies.
- Operators of public electronic communications services.
- Advice on the presentation of telecommunication procedures.
- Information on the status of processing of administrative files.
