Radio amateurs and CB-27
This section of the website informs about the procedure to be followed to obtain or modify the amateur radio authorization that allows to broadcast in the frequency bands attributed to the amateur service, obtain the call badge to identify the broadcasts and the license for the installation of a fixed station. It should be noted that in accordance with Royal Decree 123/2017, of 24 February, approving the Regulation on the use of the public radio domain, the processing of procedures relating to the radio spectrum, including those of Radioamateurs, as well as the relationship with the competent bodies of the Ministry in this regard, must be carried out compulsorily by electronic means.
The Radio Regulations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) define the amateur radio service as “a radio communication service for the purpose of individual instruction, intercommunication and technical studies, carried out by amateurs, that is, duly authorized persons interested in radio technology on an exclusively personal and non-profit basis” and the satellite amateur service as: “A radiocommunication service that uses space stations located on Earth satellites for the same purposes as the amateur service.”
In Spain both services are regulated by the following legislation:
- Regulation on the use of the public radio domain, approved by the Royal Decree 123/2017, of 24 February.
- Law 19/1983, of 16 November, on the right to install on the outside of real estate the antennas of amateur radio stations.
- Order IET/1311/2013, of 9 July, approving the Regulation on the use of the public radio domain by radio amateurs.
- Order of 25 June 1998 laying down the technical specifications of commercial amateur radio equipment.
- Royal Decree 2623/1986, of 21 November, which regulates the antenna installations of amateur radio stations.
