The Council of Ministers authorizes the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function to participate, with an investment of 13.8 million euros, in the Spanish company Sateliot, the first operator of massive IoT services by satellite

• The objective is to establish the legal and technical framework to introduce in the DTT service of any territorial area (state, autonomous and local) a new technology that will allow the generalization of emissions with ultra high definition (UHD) quality.
• The new transmission technology (DVB-T2) will allow citizens to enjoy a higher quality digital terrestrial television and enables DTT providers to compete technologically with other audiovisual platforms or services, which use other transmission networks, such as satellite or Internet television.

• As of today, telecom operators will be required to block numbers that are not assigned to a customer, an operator, or a service.
• Also from today the companies will be able to use the numbers 800 and 900 to make commercial calls.
• Other measures, such as the blocking of calls and SMS with international origin, and the ban on commercial calls from mobile numbers, will enter into force on 15 May.
• The Plan aims to provide users with tools to protect themselves against potential scams, as well as to easily identify business calls.

• These grants finance the deployment of 5G infrastructure in locations with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants where there is currently no adequate 4G mobile network coverage or where the download speed does not reach 50 Mbps

• Óscar López announces an investment of 9 million euros in Sensia, a Madrid company of infrared radiation sensors with applications in environment, sustainability and prevention and detection of natural disasters.

• The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures launches a public consultation to amend the Regulation that establishes the requirements for the marketing, commissioning and use of radio equipment

The minister highlights aid to companies to strengthen their digital protection or regulatory progress in the fight against telephone and online scams

• The Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function, through SETT, will have a participation of 4 million in the only Spanish company that manufactures semiconductor metrology equipment, keys in chip production.
