The Ministry of Finance and Civil Service agrees to raise staff salaries to 3.5% by 2023 and pay an additional 1.5% compensation by 2022

04/10/2022

On 3 October 2002, the General Negotiating Bureau of the Civil Service approved the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Civil Service to improve the remuneration of public employees.

The agreement has been supported by CCOO and UGT and provides that the State Presidents for 2023 include a 2.5% increase in public remuneration. In addition, according to the agreement, the fixed wage increase during the period 2022-2024 will be a fixed percentage of 8%, which may be increased to a maximum of 9.5% in that period, depending on various variables covered by the review clauses.

This agreement, reached by an absolute majority, is the result of an intensive and constant dialogue between the Ministry of Finance and the Civil Service and the representatives of the public workers.

This increase will benefit 2,717,570 public employees, who, in addition to what was achieved with the aforementioned pact, recover the labor rights that were cut in 2012 and strengthen the essential elements that an administration must form for the 21st century.
