Appointment of career officials of the Corps of Naval Engineers

In the State Gazette last June 30, the Resolution of 24 June 2021, appointing career officials of the Corps of Naval Engineers, was published.

It is a body of the General Administration of the State attached to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, whose work is mainly carried out in the central services of the General Directorate of Merchant Marina. The functions will consist of project review, design and technical elaboration of ships, with responsibility in areas of the maritime sector such as recreational craft, pollution control, quality, certification, among others. There are also other employment options in international bodies such as the International Maritime Organisation or the European Maritime Safety Agency.

In order to participate in the selective process, applicants must be in possession or fulfil the requirements necessary to obtain the title of Naval Engineer or that which qualifies for the exercise of the regulated profession of Naval and Oceanic Engineer, as laid down in the Community Directives.

The selective process will consist of 4 exercises with a total of 127 subjects: the opposition phase will consist of four mandatory and eliminatory exercises.

The First Exercise will consist of answering in writing a questionnaire consisting of 100 questions, the Second Exercise is intended to certify the knowledge of the English language with a written and an oral test.

The third exercise will consist of the oral development of three subjects and the fourth and final will consist of the written resolution of a practical case.

The selective course will consist of a theoretical training period organized by the Sub-directorate General of Human Resources of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 953/2018, of 27 July.
