Since August 19, the Spanish Digital Strategy 2025 has been available on the Transparency Portal, which can be accessed from this link.
This Strategy consists of 50 measures that are articulated around ten strategic axes with which, over the next five years, the aim is to boost the country’s digital transformation process, in line with the European Union’s digital strategy, through public-private partnership and with the participation of all economic and social actors in the country. The axes are as follows:
- Digital connectivity.
- Boosting 5G technology
- Reinforcing digital skills
- Strengthen Spanish capacity in cybersecurity.
- Digital transformation of the public sector.
- Digital transformation of the production model.
- Boosting Digitization Tractor Projects
- Improving the attractiveness of Spain as a European audiovisual platform
- Moving towards a data economy and artificial intelligence.
- Guarantee of digital rights.
Areas 3 and 5 of the Strategy are particularly relevant to public administrations:
-Axis 3, concerning the reinforcement of citizens' digital competences, aims to close gaps between groups and provide workers with the digital competences required in the workplace, meet the demand of digital technology specialists and reduce the gender gap in digital competences.
-Axis 5, on the digital transformation of the public sector, aims at simplifying the relationship of citizenship with public administrations and customizing digital public services, moving towards a 360º citizen model. In addition, progress will be made in the involvement of all administrations in the digital transformation; in the digitization of services provided by the General State Administration in the territory; in the updating of the technological infrastructures of the public administrations and the introduction of artificial intelligence in the articulation and execution of public policies.
