Public consultation on the draft resolution of the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, which develops section seven of the resolution of July 12, 2019, of the State Secretariat for Digital Advancement, establishing the administrative procedure and setting the deadline for submitting applications for the allocation of amateur radio call signs with a one-letter suffix, establishing the administrative procedure for the future allocation of call signs
Date of publication: 11/05/2026
Summary
The regulation of the structure of the amateur radio call sign and the criteria for its assignment are contained in Chapter I of Title IV of the Regulation on the use of the public radio domain by radio amateurs, approved by Order IET/1311/2013, of 9 July.
In accordance with the provisions of Article 27 of the aforementioned Regulation, and in view of the foreseeable situation that the demand for call signs with a one-letter suffix exceeds the existing availability, Resolution of July 12, 2019, of the Secretary of State for Digital Advancement, establishing the administrative procedure and setting the deadline for the submission of applications for the assignment of amateur radio call badges with a one-letter suffix, established a specific administrative procedure for its allocation.
With regard to the future assignments of badges, the seventh paragraph of the Resolution of 12 July 2019, cited above, instructs the Administration to periodically evaluate the evolution of the availability of call badges with a one-letter suffix, as well as the foreseeable demand for them, establishing the assignment procedures that in each situation are most suitable, until then no new assignments of said badges have been made.
In view of the results obtained in the previous procedure and the periodic evaluation of the demand, it is noted that no demand is expected to exceed the availability of badges with suffix of an existing letter.
The draft resolution, which is submitted to the public consultation of all interested parties, establishes an ordinary administrative procedure for obtaining a letter badge, replacing the badge already available to the applicant, provided that the requirements are met.
