As from 1 October 2024, Spain will begin its mandate as co-chair of the OGP Steering Committee and undertakes to promote those measures that seek greater citizen involvement in public decision-making through deliberative processes. In this way, the great commitment and effort of Spain to boost public administrations that are more transparent, participatory and accountable to the citizens is recognized.
The election of Spain to co-lead this multilateral organization took place at the VIII Global Conference of the Alliance for Open Government, which is taking place this week in Tallinn, Estonia, a summit in which our country is represented by the Secretary of State for Public Service, Lidia Sánchez Millán, who has valued Spain’s involvement in this global project.
In addition, to lead this Committee, drive OGP initiatives and lead the thematic areas of open government, our country will also host in 2025 the ninth Global Alliance Conference in 2025, which will bring together the global open government community, following the citations of Brasilia, London, Mexico City, Paris, Tblisi, Ottawa, Seoul and Tallinn.
