The multiple birth allowance is processed from this month of March by exclusively electronic means, according to the Instruction of 26 February 2021 of MUFACE, which also provides, as news, the regulation of rest periods and the simplification of procedures.

From now on, the interested parties must submit the application and the relevant documentation through the Electronic Headquarters of MUFACE https://sede.muface.gob.es/ and the application can be processed with identification by Cl@ve, electronic certificate or electronic ID.

This new advance is part of the digital transformation strategy of Mutuality. It should be noted that, as was the case in March 2019 with dental and ocular services, art has been used. 14 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, to determine that applicants for aid are subject to the electronic procedure.

Another new feature of the Instruction is the regulation of child care rest periods that will have the same duration for both parents and mandatory for the first six weeks. The possibility of transfer of part of the period between them also disappears.

Since the entry into force of Royal Decree 6/2019, which extended the paternity permit to 16 weeks since 1 January 2021, the management of this benefit has been simplified, eliminating the documentation to be provided by the mutualist.

The full digitisation of this benefit is an essential step towards meeting one of the main objectives of the MUFACE Plan Advances 2021-2023 in terms of simplification and reduction of formalities, and, above all, in terms of service to the citizen, making life easier for mutualistic fathers and mothers.
