The Official State Gazette of December 15 published the Resolution of December 11, 2020 of the Secretariat of State for Territorial Policy and Civil Service appointing career officials of the Corps of Chief Physicians.

For admission to this Body it is necessary to be in possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine.

It is a Body attached to the Ministry of Health although in peripheral services it depends organically on the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function.

The employees and public employees who are part of this Corps develop their profession in the field of external health, human products, health promotion and public health surveillance, as well as environmental health. They perform, among others, functions in the International Vaccination Centers of the State, related to international pre-service consultation and sanitary controls at borders, such as routine health control of means of international transport, response to alerts and health emergencies at borders and sanitary control of international movement of corpses.

The selective process consists of an opposition phase and selective course.

The opposition phase consists of four exercises:

• The first is a test type of 120 questions on topic issues.
• The second exercise consists of a direct and non-dictionary translation of a text in English proposed by the court.
• The third exercise, consisting of an oral presentation of two subjects, one from the second part and the other from the third part of the termario, can be chosen from two from each part taken randomly.
• The fourth exercise consists of resolving a practical assumption.

Once the opposition phase is over, applicants must complete a selective course, of a theoretical and practical nature in the Ministry of Health, which will last one month.
