Published the Order awarding the Prizes for Quality and Innovation in Public Management XIII edition

Today's Official State Gazette published Order TFP/900/2020, of September 22, granting the Prizes for Quality and Innovation in Public Management, in its XIII edition.

The Awards for Quality and Innovation in Public Management are convened annually by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Service and present three modalities:

-Prize for Excellence, which is awarded to those public organizations that are recognized for quality in the management of the entire organization according to the models of Excellence

-Award for Innovation in Public Management, aimed at recognizing innovative practices in the provision of products or services, as well as initiatives that generate an organizational improvement or management processes.

-Citizenship Prize, aimed at recognizing the quality and impact on citizenship of singular initiatives of improvement in the systems of relationship with citizens or that revert to greater transparency, participation, accountability or integrity in the provision of public services.

In this edition, convened in October 2019, 54 candidates from the three levels of the Spanish public administrations have been evaluated. In the evaluation phase prior to the Jury meeting, a total of 83 evaluators participated, all of them public employees with proven experience, competence and professionalism.

The winning nominations are as follows:

-Award for Excellence in Public Management: University of Cadiz

Accésits at the Autonomous Agency “Madrid Salud” of the City of Madrid and Subdelegation of Defense in Toledo.

Special mention of the Award for Excellence for the candidacy presented by the Infanta Leonor University Hospital.

-Management Innovation Award in practice Digitisation of VAT refund to travellers (DIVA)2 presented by the State Tax Administration Agency

Accésits to the following practices: “The system of merit competition for the provision of destinations in the Civil Guard”, presented by the General Directorate of the Civil Guard; the “T-Canaria telematics application and the Canary Islands Transparency Index (ITCanarias)”, presented by the Commissioner for Transparency and Access to Public Information in the Canary Islands and the “Ministry of Resources”.

-Citizenship to Practice Award: "From the strategic plan to the sustainability and social responsibility plan: Minors and responsible use of the Internet, priority channel, web support space for victims of gender-based violence, prevention of digital harassment in the workplace, AEPD ethical code, presented by the Spanish Agency for Data Protection."
