The first half of 2020 has set record numbers with an average of 744 monthly requests for access to public information.
Between 14 March 2020, when the administrative deadlines were suspended with the Royal Decree on the state of alarm, and 31 May 2020, the last day of the suspension of deadlines, the Transparency Portal received 1450 requests for access to public information which, together with those pending before the state of alarm was declared, resulted in a total of 1997 requests being processed by 31 May 2020.
Faced with this situation, the information units of the various ministries have stepped up their efforts, and have solved 1678 requests in June, more than twice as many requests that are resolved on average in one month in a normal situation.
