Madrid, July 23, 2024.- The Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, Mayte Ledo, presided this morning the first meeting of the Interministerial Commission for the coordination and monitoring of measures in favor of connectivity and the digitization of the economy and society in the field of the General Administration of the State. The meeting was also attended by the general director of strategic planning in advanced digital technologies and new language economy, Manuel González Bedia, and the director of the Spanish Agency for Supervision of Artificial Intelligence, Ignasi Belda.
The objective of this Commission is the coordination of the measures that promote the connectivity and digitization of the economy and society promoted by the General Administration of the State, as well as the search for synergies and common points in the actions deployed by all ministries.
In this sense, the Commission is made up of those responsible for the relevant ministerial departments in the field of Information and Communications Technologies and Digital Transformation.
During today’s session, the first meeting of the body, various issues have been addressed, such as the promotion of cases of use of Artificial Intelligence in the public sector, training in digital capabilities in the Administration and the government of data. In addition, the work plan of this committee has been discussed in the next sessions.
