Clara Mapelli and Mayte Ledo, new Secretaries of State of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service

  • Iria Álvarez and Agustina Piedrabuena have been appointed undersecretary of the ministry and director of cabinet of the minister, respectively.
  • The Council of Ministers has appointed, on the proposal of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, the new Secretaries of State for Public Service and Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, as well as the Undersecretary and Chief of Cabinet of the Ministry.

    The Council of Ministers has appointed, on the proposal of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, the new Secretaries of State for Public Service and Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, as well as the Undersecretary and Chief of Cabinet of the Ministry.

    Clara Mapelli Marchena, currently Director General of Public Governance, assumes the direction of the Secretary of State for Public Service. She is a member of the Civil Service Corps of the State and holds a PhD in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He has held positions of responsibility in various ministries, such as the Department of Studies and Research of the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies, the Technical General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory or the Department of the Office of the Secretary of State for Justice.

    For his part, Mayte Ledo Turiel, until now director of the cabinet of the Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, assumes the position of Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. Previously, he was responsible for costs and investments in BBVA and held various positions of responsibility in the entity. She has a degree in Economic Sciences from the University of Valladolid and has postgraduate studies at the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI) and doctoral courses in Economic Analysis at the Complutense University of Madrid.

    In addition, the Council of Ministers has appointed Iria Álvarez Besteiro as Undersecretary of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service. She has a degree in Law and Administration and Business Management and belongs to the Higher Corps of Commercial Technicians and Economists of the State. From 2020 to November 2023, she served as technical general secretary at the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and from November 2023 she was undersecretary of Digital Transformation.

    Finally, the Council of Ministers has also appointed Agustina Piedrabuena Moraleda as Cabinet Director of the Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service. Until now, she was an advisory member of the Minister’s cabinet and had previously served in the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transformation and in the secretariats of State for Digital Advancement and Telecommunications and Infrastructure. Senior Telecommunications Engineer, she has worked in the private sector in Telefónica, Ericsson, Telefónica Mobiles and Altran SDB and has been General Director for the Information and Telecommunications Society of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha.
