The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures submits for consultation to all interested parties (operators, public administrations, National Commission of Markets and Competition and other agents) the validity of the eligibility of the sites and areas identified in the programs UNICA 5G BACKHAUL NETWORKS” and “UNICA 5G ACTIVE NETWORKS” through the respective public consultations carried out in due time, in order to update the possible presence of network deployments or credible infrastructure deployment plans that provide backhaul connection through optical fiber to the identified sites and/or that provide mobile coverage in accordance with the present date of maximum 30 Mbps. The purpose of this consultation is therefore to verify the eligibility of the following locations and areas for the grant until at least the date of 30 April 2027:
- 1. The eligible sites published to be equipped with fiber optic connection in the scope of the PROGRAM “UNICO 5G NETWORKS – BACKHAUL FIBER OPTIC”, after the public consultation held between 17 June and 18 July 2022.
For the submission of observations to any of the eligible sites, substantiated information with clear identification of the eligible site concerned must be submitted with respect to the fibre optic connection endowment within the next two years from the date of completion of this publication, and especially as of 30 April 2027 as an alternative to the support programmes indicated in this consultation.
- 2. The zones with eligible constructions and stretches of road published to be provided with coverage for the provision of mobile communications services with native 5G technology with the added value characteristics of edge computing and multiple network slicing, and with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps for the downlink and 5 Mbps for the uplink, in the scope of the PROGRAM “UNICO 5G NETWORKS – ACTIVE”, after the public consultation held between 15 February and 16 March 2023.
For the submission of observations to any of the eligible areas, substantiated information with clear identification of the affected eligible area(s) must be submitted with respect to the provision of mobile 4G coverage with 50 Mbps downstream under conditions of maximum demand in the next two years from the date of completion of this publication, and especially as of April 30, 2027 as an alternative to the ACTIVA program.
