The Secretariat of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures (SETELECO) submits for consultation to all interested parties (operators, public administrations, National Commission for Markets and Competition and other agents) the preliminary list of sites (sites) located in municipalities of less than 20,000 inhabitants for which it has been identified that they do not currently have an option of connection to the backhaul by means of optical fiber and for which there are no plans to provide such a connection in the next three years (eligible sites).
The objective of the consultation is to consolidate this preliminary identification in order to obtain the definitive map of eligible sites, for which it is considered that, according to the State aid regulations, it is possible to grant public aid for the provision of backhaul connection by means of optical fiber so that said sites and areas they serve have a return connection with sufficient capacity to support the provision of high-performance 5G services.
Likewise, the SETELECOsubmits to public consultation of all interested parties (operators, public administrations, National Commission of Markets and Competition and other agents), the main characteristics and the draft Order of “REGULATORY BASES OF THE GRANTING OF AID FOR THE PROVISION OF BACKHAUL CONNECTION BY OPTICAL FIBER TO SITES OF PUBLIC MOBILE TELEPHONE NETWORKS”.
To facilitate the location and analysis of the sites, files of geographical layers are provided in format KMZ and shape that make it possible to process it in any georeferenced information system (GIS). Likewise, a cartographic viewer is available on this one.Link.
