The Public Health Commission of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS) approved on 12 September that the influenza vaccination campaign 2023-2024 would cover the last week of September and the month of October. This period ensures an adequate supply of the vaccine, optimizes the effectiveness of the campaign and allows to adapt both to the epidemiological pattern of the manifestation of the infection and to the peculiarities of the health organization in each geographical area.
Mutualists assigned to the public option will receive vaccination in the corresponding public health service. With regard to the mutual group attached to concerted entities, it should be remembered that the administration of influenza vaccines is included in the MUFACE Health Care Concert. Therefore, the general rule is that risk group mutualists will receive their flu dose in the centers of their insurer.
The goals for the 2023-2024 season in vaccination against influenza and Covid-19 are to achieve or overcome 75% vaccination coverage in the elderly and in health and socio-sanitary personnel, as well as to exceed 60% in pregnant women and in people with risk conditions.
