14/11/2022

On 8 November last, the Council of Ministers adopted the preliminary draft Law on Transparency and Integrity in the Activities of Interest Groups, thus initiating its process of informing the public.

This standard, integrated in Component 11 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and which is part of the commitments made by Spain to regulate the activity of "lobbies" before the European Commission, in addition to complying with other requests of the Council of Europe and OECD recommendations, clarifies the rules under which the relations between those seeking to exercise a legitimate activity of influence and the senior management of the State should take place.

In addition, the text envisages, among other issues, the creation of a Register of Interest Groups of mandatory registration and points out which are the profiles of the AGE that must take into account the provisions of its articulation when contacting certain groups or individuals.
