Cycle of conferences on citizen participation in public plans and programmes

04/10/2022

On October 13, from 10 to 12 hours, in an online mode, framed in the Conference Cycle on Citizen Participation in Public Plans and Programs, promoted by HazLab, a paper entitled Direct Participation and Deliberation: Beyond False Oppositions and Reductionisms will be held by the Senior Investigator of Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy, Yanina Wep.

This act aims to question the false dichotomy between the groups called participationistemphasis on results, and deliberations, which emphasize the process, all in the context of the "participatory change" observed in recent decades and which has generated the deployment of institutions with diverse objectives, such as deciding on a percentage of the budget, voting in referendums, proposing constitutional reforms, etc.

HazLab is a digital laboratory for the exploration and implementation of innovative solutions for citizen participation in public policies. This 100% digital space allows all previously identified actors to share, explore and experiment innovative solutions to respond to social problems, identify and satisfy citizens' needs and, therefore, collaborate with the Administration in the design of public policies.
