18/03/2022

The Secretary of State for Civil Service, Lidia Sánchez Milan, has signed the Strasbourg Declaration on the Common Values and Challenges of the European Public Administrations, together with the other Civil Service Officials from the EU Member States, who met this week in Strasbourg as part of the French Presidency of the European Union at the Ministerial Conference in the field.

The Declaration recognises the existence of common values and challenges of public administrations in the European Union, based on three essential areas: the construction of an attractive, modern and innovative public service, leading through its example; the existence of transparent and resilient public services that meet the expectations of citizens; and high-quality, inclusive and strategically autonomous digital public services.

The document signed at Community level develops each of these areas. In this way, with the aim of creating an attractive, modern and innovative public service, it has been agreed to promote the development of talent in the service of European public administrations to ensure the continuity and excellence of public services; to support new forms of work in organisations, including teleworking, to constitute more modern administrations; to promote the development of skills and the diversification of professional careers, to develop the potential of all working people in the field of public administration and mobility.
