On 17 February, the Directorates-General of MUFACE, Myriam Pallarés and the Instituto Nacional de Seguridad Social (INSS), Carmen Armesto, signed the extension until 2026 of the existing agreement between the two entities to ensure access to health care in the national territory for its beneficiaries and the integration of information.
The renewal of the agreement - which dates from January 2018-, is a sign of the continuous cooperation and work between the two bodies as guarantors of the social protection of Spanish citizenship.
The renewal of the agreement includes modifications related to the process of incorporating the information of the group protected by the Regime of Administrative Mutualism into the health insurance database “BADAS”. In this regard, the process of assigning the NHS Code to healthcare beneficiaries who do not have it is taken into account. The code will be incorporated into the MUFACE collective database.
Changes are also contemplated in relation to the time when the secondment takes place and the criteria for requesting extraordinary change of status are updated for medical-hospital reasons.
