Today, May 6, the Official State Gazette published the Resolution of April 28, 2021, appointing career officials of the Optional Corps of Prison Health.
It is a special body of the General Administration of the State attached to the Ministry of the Interior of Group A1. The employees and public employees of this Corps are entrusted with the functions of caring for the physical and mental health of the inmates and of monitoring the hygiene and health conditions of the center, as well as medical and health care in the initial recognition of the inmates and the successive regulations that are determined.
In order to participate in the selective process, applicants must have a degree in Medicine or Degree in Medicine or Degree in Medicine and Surgery and must hold a degree in Family and Community Medicine, Internal Medicine or Psychiatry, or have fulfilled the conditions to obtain it at the end of the deadline for the submission of applications.
The opposition phase shall have a maximum duration of five months and shall consist of three exercises and a language test, all of which are eliminated.
The Internship Period shall be governed by a Resolution of the Secretary-General of Penitentiary Institutions, lasting less than six months and shall consist of two phases: Training and Internship in Penitentiary Institutions. For applicants who opt to the places of Psychiatry will perform the internship phase in the Psychiatric Penitentiary Hospitals of Alicante and/or Seville
