This publication aims to show more significant aspects of the workforce in the Ministry of Defence, taking into account information from the Ministry of Defence Personnel Database (SIPERDEF) as of 31 December 2020. This database covers all personnel in the service of the Military Administration and records all acts affecting the administrative life of such personnel.

The information refers to the working staff of the General Administration of the State that provides services in the Ministry of Defence and in its autonomous bodies, and is divided into several chapters: Employment situations, active workers, workers on leave, staff with suspension of contract and workers discharged during the year.

The characteristics analyzed in the publication were the professional group both of the III Single Convention and out of convention; the employment situation, the unit of destination, sex, the Autonomous Community, the relationship with the Administration, the type of contract and the reason for the cancellation, if any.
