By Resolution of the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy and Civil Service of September 24, published in the BOE of September 29, career officials of the Higher Corps of State Statisticians were appointed.

The public employees and employees who are part of this Corps are involved in the production of statistics through the planning of official statistics; design of surveys and information collection procedures; analysis and study of the data obtained and dissemination of their results, with the aim of producing public statistics and official studies on the situation and evolution of the population, economy and society of the country.

The selective process consists of a phase of opposition and in overcoming a selective course in the School of Statistics of the Public Administrations. The opposition phase consists of four mandatory and eliminatory exercises. The first exercise is the development of short questions; the second is written development of practical issues; the third exercise is in languages and the fourth exercise consists in the oral presentation of agenda items.
