The Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service and Microsoft have signed a protocol of joint action for the promotion of ethical and responsible Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity in companies and public administration.
The Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service and Microsoft have signed a protocol of joint action for the promotion of ethical and responsible Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity in companies and public administration.
The Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Service, José Luis Escrivá, the President of Microsoft Corporation, Brad Smith, and the President of Microsoft Spain, Alberto Granados, have signed this collaboration, which aims to join efforts to strengthen the digital transformation process in which the country is immersed in recent years. This protocol has been one of the topics addressed in the meeting that the minister has held with Smith and Granados.
Specifically, the collaboration focuses on the Digital Spain Agenda 2026, and, more specifically, the strategic axes of “use of AI in public administration and in national strategic missions” and “cybersecurity”.
The collaboration will become a space for the exchange of ideas and experiences in these fields, to enhance the productivity of the General Administration of the State, as well as the opportunities that this technology brings for closer and safer public services.
Among other issues, the diffusion of uses of Generative AI will be promoted, and quantum computing, talent and training in these technologies, the promotion of the entrepreneurial ecosystem around them, as well as scientific production in these fields.
In the field of cybersecurity, we will collaborate in initiatives to raise awareness about it among companies and citizens and in promoting the culture of the use of tools that increase cybersecurity and risk protection in the digital field.
