The new National Radio Spectrum Frequency Allocation Table is approved
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has published the new National Frequency Allocation Table (CNAF), the regulatory framework that sets out the use for which each of the frequency bands in which the radio spectrum is divided is reserved.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has published the new National Frequency Allocation Table (CNAF), the regulatory framework that establishes the use for which each of the frequency bands in which the radio spectrum is divided is reserved.
The proposed modifications affect the conditions of use of different frequency bands, among which the harmonized technical conditions of the 26 GHz band for use by 5G electronic communications networks stand out. The tender of the 26 GHz band is one of the measures included in the Roadmap 5G of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, Since it is one of the priority bands for the development of this technology.
The conditions of use of frequency bands for applications related to the safety of intelligent transport systems and traffic information, inductive loop applications and applications for medical implants have also been updated.
In addition, the CNAF covers the needs of the Spanish industry, so the 20 MHz rating has been included in the band of 2300-2400 MHz for broadband mobile communications networks on a self-service basis. This will allow companies to have spectrum for their own applications, among which are industrial applications. Of these 20 MHz, 10 MHz will be of preferential use for public utility networks for the distribution of electricity, gas or water.
On this occasion, a new complete version of the CNAF is published and no specific modifications are made, since it includes the provisions corresponding to the agreements adopted at the last World Radiocommunication Conference of the International Telecommunication Union; it incorporates European Commission Implementing Decisions and Decisions of the European Postal and Telecommunication Conference, relating to the radio spectrum; and it updates some notes of national use, in the technical terms and conditions resulting from the harmonization processes at the European Union level.
