The first day of the tender of frequencies of the 700 MHz band ends, priority to deploy 5G networks and services

    This Tuesday was the first day of the spectrum auction relating to the 700 MHz band with 75 MHz divided into 2 blocks of 2x10 MHz, 2 blocks of 2x5 MHz and 3 blocks of 5 MHz that constitute a total of 7 demanial concessions.
    Today, five rounds have been held with the participation of the three operators admitted to the auction: Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone. At the end of the rounds held on this day, the total amount accumulated for all the concessions on which bids have been made amounts to 280,964,000 euros.
    The concessions will have a minimum duration of 20 years and a maximum of 40 and the global exit price for all concessions is 995.5 million euros.
    The auction will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, July 21, starting at 10 a.m.
    5G technology boost
    The promotion of 5G technology in Spain is a priority of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which provides for a public investment of 1.5 billion euros to accelerate its deployment. Making the priority bands for this technology available to operators is one of the key reforms for the deployment of 5G services.
