The Council of Ministers approves the second call for grants for 5G pilot projects
The Council of Ministers today approved the granting of grants to finance pilot projects based on 5G mobile technology. Specifically, the Ministry of Economy and Enterprise, through the public company Red.es, will contribute up to 45 million euros for the development of a maximum of eleven projects.
This call is framed in the National 5G Plan and aims to promote the development of 5G pilot experiences by the private sector. This is the second call of this nature launched by the Government. In the first, resolved on April 30, 2019, the maximum budget was 20 million euros, benefiting two initiatives.
As in the previous call, this aid will be called by the public entity Red.es and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), being able to reach up to 40% of the eligible expenses of the projects. Due to the availability of these funds, the grant is called in the following Autonomous Communities, being able to reach in each case the amount indicated:
