The Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, makes a final call for the submission of applications for RedIA Health aid to projects that apply artificial intelligence to the health sector. The deadline for the announcement of this program, endowed with 50 million euros, ends next Monday, January 5 in the electronic headquarters de Red.es.
The Government of Spain has mobilized this investment to promote innovative business projects that integrate AI into the development of solutions that improve and optimize all areas of the healthcare value chain. The objective is to make a qualitative leap both in the improvement of health care, in the precision of diagnoses and in the reduction of the cost of health services.
The intention is that these projects address the improvement of processes through the use of AI for assisted diagnosis, in personalized medicine applications, as well as to achieve technological advances in early prediction and patient monitoring, in addition to increasing capacities in the effective management of health systems and clinical, biomedical and pharmacological research or emergency response, among others.
The fundable budget per project is between a minimum of 400,000 euros and a maximum of 5 million euros, with an aid intensity that can range between 25% and 60%. Demonstration, validation or certification phases must be included in real environments, using real data from the health field, and interested companies must submit their proposals through the electronic headquarters of the public entity Red.es, being able to submit as many proposals as it deems appropriate.
This aid line promoted by the Government of Spain is financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the Multiregional Operational Programme of Spain 2021-2027, and is aimed at companies that develop projects based on artificial intelligence anywhere in Spain.
RedIA Salud is integrated into the set of initiatives promoted by the Government to promote digitization and the adoption of advanced technologies in the business fabric. This investment effort exceeds 3 billion euros destined to strengthen the competitiveness and innovation of Spanish companies and SMEs, under the conviction that the application of solutions with artificial intelligence will allow a more efficient and rapid health in the prediction of diseases.
