- This program, aimed at both public bodies and the private sector, is part of the Data Space Impetus Plan led by the Government of Spain
- The objective is that the different economic sectors can share information on production, logistics, integration systems and interoperability in an agile and safe way
- This infrastructure is considered crucial because systematic data work across all industry value chains is key to achieving more efficiency and accuracy, and facilitating the emergence of effective AI solutions.
The call for Kit Data Spaces grants remains open until March 31 in the electronic headquarters de Red.es. Aimed at both private sector entities and public agencies and Public Administrations, this is a measure promoted by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Public Service to accelerate the creation of artificial intelligence solutions more effective, accurate and adapted to the real needs of each sector.
The objective is to facilitate its incorporation into data spaces, a secure and standardized environment that allows information to be shared in an agile and reliable way, thus promoting new business models and data-based services. The program is part of the Data Space Impetus Plan led by the Government of Spain, a roadmap that seeks to allow the different economic sectors to exchange relevant information on production, logistics, system integration and interoperability.
The amounts of the grants vary depending on the profile of the applicant and the role he or she plays in the data space. Private and public entities with economic activity can receive up to 15,000 euros if they join as participants and up to 30,000 euros if they do so as data providers. In the case of Public Administrations, the amounts can reach 25,000 euros for incorporation as participants and up to 50,000 euros for those acting as suppliers.
The grants, managed through Red.es and articulated through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, will be processed under non-competitive competition, resolved in order of arrival and until the available funds are exhausted. They will cover the costs associated with joining data spaces, preparing information and publishing data products, thus facilitating the participation of all types of entities.
The Government of Spain considers the systematic and structured use of data throughout the value chain essential as a determining factor to gain efficiency, improve decision-making and move towards artificial intelligence solutions that are really useful in each of the economic and social activities.
In this sense, through the Data Spaces Kit, it is intended to provide an infrastructure adapted to each economic activity so that AI can be developed with quality data, contextualized and representative of each phase of production processes. And it is executed in an agile way taking as a reference the model of the Digital Kit, whose success has demonstrated the effectiveness of this type of instruments to accelerate the digital transformation and extend its benefits to the entire economic and administrative ecosystem of the country.
