The Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, has published today the BOE the bases that regulate the Data Space Kit, a new programme of aid to private, public and administrative entities to facilitate their effective incorporation into data spaces, to which an investment of 60 million euros will be allocated.

The grants will cover the costs incurred by the entities to achieve their incorporation into a data space. The grant may be applied for on a non-competitive basis, in order of application and until the funds available have been exhausted.

The management of the aid program will correspond to Red.es, a public business entity attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service.

For its part, the Data Space Reference Center (CRED) will be responsible for advising stakeholders and boosting ecosystems, in collaboration with data spaces, to facilitate access to these aids and accompany the incorporation process.

Financing

Depending on the type of entity and the level of integration, the following maximum aid amounts are established:

· Private and public entities with economic activity: up to 15,000 euros (partial incorporation) or up to 30,000 euros (full incorporation).

· Public Administrations: up to 25,000 euros (partial incorporation) or up to 50,000 euros (full incorporation).

The eligible data spaces will be the sectoral data spaces deployed in the Plan to Promote Sectoral Data Spaces and the National Health Data Space, in addition to those identified in the Trusted List of Data Spaces that may be launched by the General Data Directorate of the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, as well as those that may be established in the call.

The publication of these regulatory bases is intended to revitalize the data ecosystem in Spain, strengthen the competitiveness of the economy in the global arena and consolidate the financial sustainability of innovative business models already promoted in previous calls for proposals. The incorporation of companies and Public Administrations in data spaces will generate benefits both at the business level and for the economy in general, among them: the significant increase in the innovation capacity of the beneficiary companies, the creation of new products and services based on data analysis and the improvement in operational efficiency and decision making.

Recipients

The Data Space Kit is aimed at private and public entities with economic activity, as well as Public Administrations with a high level of digital maturity in the use of data and artificial intelligence, which use digital technologies to improve their internal operations and seek to exploit the business opportunities offered by the sharing of their data in data spaces. Thus, the program aims to overcome the main barriers that currently exist for entities to participate in a data space.

Deadlines

The interested entities may subsidise the activities carried out from the date of publication of these regulatory bases. The call for applications will be available this summer and it is expected that applications can be submitted from October 2025.
