Madrid, June 4, 2024.- The Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Public Service, through its Secretary of State for Digitization and AI, has launched an application to identify the existing capacities in the R&D entities belonging to the public sector institutional state of proven research excellence for the execution of artificial intelligence projects
It is one of the activities included in Lever 4 of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2024, approved by the Council of Ministers on May 14, 2024. Likewise, it will contribute to compliance with the Spanish Recovery and Resilience Plan, forming part of Reform 1 of Component 16 of the Plan, within the measure of support for the creation of the Spanish Talent Node in AI that pursues the development of talent in AI and the attraction of funding for the development of products and services in the market.
The objective of the launch of this application is to know in greater detail the possible projects that these entities are able to carry out, to evaluate their possible financing.
Projects should aim at the development of applied research (demonstrators, proofs of concept, etc.) to facilitate the possible placing on the market of products and services based on artificial intelligence, with a level of technological maturity (TRL) between 6 and 8.
Once the proposals received have been analysed, it will be decided, by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, which public bodies will be able to receive funds for the execution of the proposed projects.
