  • The application for the aid can be made from today (5 April) to 31 December 2024. The amounts increase to facilitate personal autonomy, for stays in assisted residences and for people in a situation of drug dependency.

Today begins the application period for Muface’s social and health protection grants for 2024, after its publication yesterday in the BOE. The grants, which may be requested until the end of the year, are to cover certain expenses related to the seven current programs: chronic psychiatric disease, celiac disease, oncological disease, drug addiction and other addictions, to facilitate personal autonomy, for temporary stays in assisted residences or day and night centers, and for people in dependency.

Regarding the novelties of the call for this year, the increase in the amounts of aid to facilitate personal autonomy, and in the programs of temporary stays in assisted residences and for people in situations of drug dependency stand out.

The Drug Dependency Assistance Program has been renamed “Drug Dependency and Other Addiction Care Assistance Program” because the assumptions are broadened to accommodate non-substance dependency situations, such as addiction to gambling games (face-to-face and online) or video games. Also, in this edition, the caps, scarves and oncological turbans are incorporated into the existing hair prostheses, in order to cover all the options of aid in hair loss derived from the oncological treatment received.

Starting this year, applications for all programs can be submitted at Muface’s website. The application screens in electronic headquarters have been expanded, revised and improved to make them simpler and more intuitive. In addition, the submission of non-electronic applications may continue to be made at the offices and through other administrative records.
