The Government takes the first step towards the creation of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation

The new public business entity can be operational from the month of May
The Government has taken the first step to launch the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT). Specifically, the Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Public Service, has given the green light to the urgent processing of the Royal Decree regulating the conditions of transformation of the SEMyS Company into the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation Public Enterprise Entity and approving its statute.
The new company, which will be attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, will have as main functions the promotion and execution of investments in strategic sectors linked to digital transformation; the execution of the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation of Microelectronics and Semiconductors (PERTE Chip) and participate in the actions related to the Next Tech Fund and the Fund. Spain Audiovisual Huband the financing and support of emerging technology projects linked to digitisation, artificial intelligence and the audiovisual sector.
With this first step, the new entity will be able to start operating from the month of May.
