Alberto Palomo, Chief Data Officer de España, asume la presidencia del Consejo Gubernamental de Gaia-X
Alberto Palomo Lozano, first Chief Data Offier of the Government of Spain, has assumed the presidency of the Governmental Advisory Board of Gaia X at European level, the European initiative for the creation of an open, federated and interoperable data infrastructure, constituted on the values of digital sovereignty and data availability, and the promotion of the Data Economy.
Among the functions of Palomo as the first President of the Governmental Advisory Board includes coordinating the Council ' s activities, facilitating discussions and the decision-making process both within and outside the Council ' s meetings, and guiding it in the performance of the Council ' s own functions and tasks.

The Governmental Advisory Board is the body responsible for examining and advising the Board of Directors of Gaia X on matters of public policy, especially when there may be an interaction between the purpose and non-profit activities of the Association and national, international or European laws, policies, regulations and public policy objectives. Its function is purely consultative to the European Association and its Board of Directors and, therefore, it assumes no responsibility with regard to the activities or decisions of the Association, as well as in matters of action or legal representation.
GAIA Spanish Hub
Gais-X is a European private sector initiative that aims to create an open, federated and sovereign data infrastructure, focused on business and built on the values of digital sovereignty and data availability. Its main objective is to speed up the European response in terms of data sharing and sovereignty. The initiative achieves capillarity in the territory of the different member states through 15 national hubs of Gais-X.
The Spanish hub of Gais-X seeks that sectoral industries of all sizes, with special attention for the SMEs and microSMEs, build community around data, develop new solutions and foster data innovation and IA. The objective of this national hub is to accelerate the Spanish capacity in data sharing and digital sovereignty: deploy the data economy and bet on the leadership of data spaces in strategic sectors such as tourism or health; as well as generate a solid ecosystem in the field of industrial data sharing composed of research and technological development centers, large companies, SMEs, microenterprises and startups.
On March 18, the event of the Constituent Assembly of the association of the Spanish hub of Gaia -X took place in the Manchega town of Talavera de la Reina, giving impetus to the work already begun in the workshops on different sectors such as tourism, mobility or the 4.0 data industry.
