    The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, through the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, has launched a Statement of Interest to finance university chairs, existing or new, dedicated to research, dissemination, teaching and innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the framework of the project Program Chairs of IA.

    This initiative aims to identify the most promising areas of knowledge, training needs and research lines necessary for the support or creation of university chairs.

    The Chairs of IA It is part of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (ENIA) and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which have among their objectives “the promotion of a greater training offer in Vocational and University Training” oriented to the development of this technology. To this end, it is planned to strengthen research activities in this field, while seeking to create a solid body of knowledge to nourish the training offer in the different fields that use it.

    To achieve these purposes, the research talent in Spain will be detected so that it can be enhanced through specific units and generate R&D Innovative in the different areas of application of the IA. These activities will be the basis of a new training offer. The ideal way to achieve these objectives is the financing of university chairs in IA, existing or newly created, which will have an extensive research, dissemination and training activity.

    Manifestation of Interest Objectives

    The objectives of this call for proposals are:

    The call for the Expression of Interest is open to all types of participants (citizens, private and public agents, research centers and universities of any kind), who have knowledge in the application of solutions based on IA or in developing and training models of IA. In addition, each participant may submit one or more expressions of interest.

    These expressions will be made anonymously and will allow the contribution of contributions until April 30 this year. link.

    The Chair Program IA It is part of the agenda Spain Digital 2025, in the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, as well as in Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The National Artificial Intelligence Strategy will mobilise a public investment of 600 million euros until 2023.
