The Secretary General of Digital Administration holds the opening of the III Blockchain Economy Conference

    The Secretary General of Administración Digital opens the “III Blockchain Economy Conference” organized by Blockchain Economy and the University of Navarra. This Conference addresses the application and possibilities of Blockchain in the fields of investment, tokenization of assets, financial services, cryptocurrencies, cryptoassets, decentralized finance, digital identity and possibilities in the third sector, from the perspective of regulators, registrars, legal, expert and specialized advisors, technology companies, entrepreneurs and representatives of the third sector.

    Spain actively participates in the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI). In this area, it coordinates the working groups of European Sovereign Digital Identity and Diplomas; it has influenced the definition of the architecture of the EBSI; it has three EBSI nodes, one of them operating in the facilities of the General Secretariat of Digital Administration, together with those managed by the National Currency and Stamp Factory and by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE); and at the invitation of the European Commission it is part of the group of countries of early adoption.

    In addition, last July Spain signed a joint declaration with Germany to cooperate in the field of cross-border digital identity based on the principles of self-sufficient identity.

    All these actions are a bet of the Government for the process of Digital Transformation of the Public Sector, as well as for the application of digital enabling technologies, in particular Blockchain, to move towards the creation of personalized, safe, reliable and innovative public services.
